What more could I ask for…

In a few days most of the people I know will be stuffing themselves with some sort of fabulous Thanksgiving feast and pondering the list of “things” they are thankful for.  My list of gratitude is so long that I would have had to have started before I was born in order to properly write each blessing down and give it proper reverence.  So, instead, I just want the world to know how thankful I am for my husband.  You can stop gagging now and read on. My husband and I have known each other for 18 years; that would have made us mere “children” when we met (yes I was 18!!) and we have literally been through almost everything one can endure in a lifetime.  Almost 4 years ago, my husband decided to truly become the Best Husband Ever guided by the grace of God and His Word and today I declare he is!  Sorry fellas this is not a democracy, there was no vote or contest, he wins without doubt! So to you, Victor, I say I am eternally thankful, grateful and blessed to be your wife.  Thank you for giving me your best.

3 Day clean eating, focused living, and accountability challenge.

Using Shakeology meal supplement drinks we will focus on the the finest natural vitamins, minerals, and ingredients that will aid the digestive track in ridding itself of any unwanted material in the body.

It should also be noted that The Challenge isn’t meant to be used solely as a weight loss solution. Though people do experience some weight loss, much of it is from the cleansing of the excess waste in the colon and intestines. Participants experience a “lighter” feeling, and see the evidence on the scale (if they have one) and the measuring tape. Healthy weight loss is attained with consistent exercise and good nutrition.

The Details

  • Meal: 1 scoop Shakeology and 8-10 oz. of water; optional 1/2 cup of fresh fruit and ice
  • Snack: 1 piece of fruit (low glycemic fruits: pears, apples, grapefruit, or strawberries) raw veggies

Recommendations

I recommend a low calorie vinaigrette, or balsamic/red wine vinegar and olive oil for your salads. (Make your own!) Clean up your eating the week prior to your 3 Day Challenge. Clean out your pantry, fridge, and hiding spots BEFORE. Prepare to eat clean then repeat for three days. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER (go for a gallon!) I Got No Time For Fake Foes!

Today I was reading my husband’s blog and one thing he wrote made me stop and reread it over and over again.  I am paraphrasing here (BIG SHOCKER: wife who paraphrases her husband’s thoughts to convey what she thought he meant ;-), but he basically said that there is no need for us to create imaginary things that oppose us, meaning that most of the things that are holding us back are imaginary road blocks that we have created in our own heads!   That concept forced me to ask myself, what is really holding me back?  What keeps me from reaching and exceeding my goals?  What little imaginary army of lies have I built up in my head that keep me from “being all I can be”?  I suspect that most of you reading this are battling your own little imaginary armies and that if you are able to not only identify those fake foes, but also combat them with the REAL truth you will be one step closer to reaching your own definition of success. The only way to defeat the fake opposition is to uphold the REAL truth and continue to overcome those nasty little false grenades is to beat them into submission with truth-covered fire-bombs.   For example, if the imaginary army tosses out the “you will never be anything because you are _____years-old and you have gone no where so far” grenade, fire right back with the “I am already something, I am _________’s child, __________’s grandchild, __________’s spouse, ___________’s parent __________’s ______________and I will reach my goals!” fire bomb.   You are someone.  You are a success.  You will reach your goals.  There is NOTHING you cannot do if you will simply rely on the truth (Phillipians 4:13).

Welcome to the NeedMore Fitness blog!  

Today’s tip is: Get Moving!  What do I mean by “moving”?  Anything other than sitting!  If you are not the type of person that “works out”, you have absolutely no interest in ever stepping foot in a gym and the thought of watching an exercise DVD, much less actually doing it makes you want to vomit, then commit to walking around your house 10 times as soon as you finish reading this post.  If you know you can push a little harder than that, do as many squats as you can (yes you can squat and read at the same time), lunge up and down the hallway 5 times and then make 10 “house laps”.  You will be glad you did!  Happy Moving!
